The Advent season is soon approaching. As we prepare for the birth of Christ, we have the opportunity to help others in need. This year Blessed Trinity CES is so excited to share our Christmas Luke 4:18 initiative called the SHOEBOX project. This Canadian charity uplifts and empowers women who are experiencing or at-risk-of homelessness. It provides women with the gift of hope, resilience and a sense of belonging.
Since 2011 this charity has provided shoebox gifts to more than 285,000 women across Canada. What is the SHOEBOX project? It is a personally crafted gift that contains a mix of essential everyday items and small luxuries.
Each division will collect a specific NEW item (such as: shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothbush ) or a $10 gift card to a grocery or drug store. Classroom teachers will post and share the specific item for each class. This campaign will run from November 15th to December 8th.
The local shelters that will be supported through our school’s campaign are:
-
Belinda’s Place
-
