Shoebox Project
The Luke 4:18 Committee will once again be creating beautiful gifts, in support of The Shoebox Project (York Region), for local women impacted by homelessness. To support this initiative, families may donate brand new everyday essential items, small gifts, or gift cards (i.e., $10.00 -$15.00 coffee, pharmacy, grocery stores). Beginning the 2024-2025 school year, all students in Year 2 of Kindergarten through Grade 2 in Ontario will participate in early reading screenings (ERS). This requirement by the Ministry of Education was in response to the Right to Read report and is endorsed by the Canadian Pediatric Society.
